¶1Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel for the State-respondent.

¶2The present writ petition has been preferred for a mandamus directing the second respondent to decide the petitioners' representation dated 28.08.2023 for not according permission to any person for performing Ramleela on the plot no. 684, which is adjacent to the plot of the petitioners' holding. It has been alleged that in the garb of Ramleela, certain illegal activities are carried out over the said plot. It has also been alleged that Shri Ramleela Committee is also encroaching upon the petitioners' holding.

¶3Considering the facts and circumstances and the claim set up by the petitioners, we do not find any good ground or locus of the petitioners to make such a request. In case, the petitioners are aggrieved, they can invoke the common law remedy as available in law.

¶4Once we have declined to entertain the writ petition, learned counsel for the petitioners fairly states that he is not inclined to press the writ petition and the same may be dismissed as not pressed.
