Privacy and takedown requests
Personal data in judgments
Court judgments can name parties, witnesses and other people. The law protects some of them. For example, the identity of a victim of certain sexual offences, and of children in conflict with the law, must not be published. The official reports we use are usually anonymised already, but mistakes can happen.
Ask us to mask or remove information
If a page names a person whose identity should be protected, or you have another good reason to ask us to mask personal details, please use the privacy request form. Tell us the page and what you would like changed. We review every request, act quickly where the law requires it, and may mask names on our copy while leaving the official record unchanged.
What we collect about visitors
We do not require an account. Our server keeps standard access logs for security. If you contact us, we store what you send so we can reply, and a one-way hash of your IP address to limit abuse. We do not sell personal data.
