This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for a direction upon the respondent no. 2 to consider application for grant of arms licence to the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner has applied for grant of arms licence on the basis of succession as his father who had arm licence, passed away on 23.06.1996, whereafter the petitioner after fulfilling the requisite conditions moved application for grant of arm licence in his favour on

04.05.2022, however, no order has been passed by the authority thereon as yet. Without entering into merits of the case, a direction is issued upon respondent no. 2 to consider and decide the petitioner's matter in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed its opinion on the merits of the case. The respondent no. 2 shall pass the order independently and in accordance with law.
