¶1The present petition has been filed with the following relief :- "(i) issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent authorities to provide new electricity connection in petitioner's house bearing house No. D-54/29 A.N. Jaddu Mandi, Varanasi, District-Varanasi forthwith.

(ii) issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to take appropriate decision upon application of petitioner for getting new electricity connection bearing Application No. 1013637304 forthwith in accordance with law within reasonable time."

¶2An application has been ostensibly filed by the petitioner under Clause 4.4 of the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Supply Code, 2005.

¶3Considering the pleadings in the petition and the circumstances of the case, the petition is disposed of with the direction to the respondent no. 2, Executive Engineer, Urban Electricity Distribution Division, Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, U.P. Power Corporation Limited, Varanasi, to decide the application of the petitioner within a period of three months from the date of filing of certified copy of this order before him.
