This petition has been filed with a prayer to direct respondent no. 4 to provide clear report according to Arms Rules, 2016 before respondent no. 2 so that entry of newly purchased N.P.B. Pistol No. 62039-7.63 bore may be done in Certificate/ Arm Book (arm licence) within stipulated period Brief facts of the case are that the petitioner is the resident of Piprahata Bisaura, P.S. Meja, Prayagraj. He was having arms licence no. 6200/Khiri of N.P.W. Revolver/ Pistol RP-116413-2004. He purchased a new arm, i.e., 7.63 bore pistol no. 62039 mouser (Sherd) Made in Germany. For the purposes of entry of new pistol in place of old one, the petitioner approached the District Magistrate to make entry, whereupon the District Magistrate directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police to place a report in this regard so that the entry as requested may be done. It is stated that the report has not been provided till date, hence, the present writ petition has been preferred for such a direction. On the basis of instructions, received in compliance with the previous order dated 10.10.2023, learned Standing Counsel submits that the report has already been placed by the concerned Deputy Commissioner of Police before the District Magistrate, thus, nothing remains in view of relief as sought for in the present writ petition. In view of the above, it is obvious that the grievance raised in the writ petition is satisfied to the extent it is prayed for. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed. No order as to costs.
