The grievance of the petitioner in the present petition is that her application for grant of benefits under the National Family Benefit Scheme caused due to the death of her husband who was the sole bread earner of the family is not being decided by the District Social Welfare Officer, Bareilly who is the competent officer authorized to consider the application filed by the petitioner. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the petition is disposed of with the liberty to the petitioner to file a fresh application before the District Social Welfare Officer, Bareilly for the claim made by her and on receipt of the said application, the District Social Welfare Officer, Bareilly shall make all endeavor to decide the application in accordance with law within a period of one month from the date of filing the application and in case the petitioner is entitled to the amount claimed in the writ petition, the same shall be disbursed in favour of the petitioner within a period of 15 days.
