The present petition has been filed praying for following relief :- "(I) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no. 2 to take the action in the matter of petitioner by deciding the application dated 5.10.2023 (Annexure no. 2) filed by the petitioner before the respondent No. 3.

(II) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no. 2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the son of the petitioner and his family." The application dated 5.10.2023 was filed by the petitioner before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ghazipur pleading that no first information report be registered against his son Ashish Kumar and the marriage of Ashish Kumar be cancelled as the ceremony of marriage has been allegedly held under coercion. The issue raised in the present petition does not involve any question of public law. The petitioner has the remedy to lodge first information report and the son of the petitioner has also remedy to file appropriate proceedings under the Family Court Act and the Hindu Marriage Act for cancellation of alleged marriage. In view of availability of alternative remedy to the petitioner, it is not a fit case for interference by this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. The petition is dismissed.
