Court No. - 37 Case :- WRIT - C No. - 35497 of 2023 Petitioner :- Smt. Sangeeta And Another Respondent :- State Of U.P. And 4 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Sudhakar Yadav,Arvind Yadav Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C. Hon'ble Manoj Bajaj,J. Petitioners have filed this writ petition under Article 226 Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus by way of directions to the official respondent no.2 to provide protection to them, as they have performed marriage on

06.10.2023 against the wishes of respondent no.5-father of petitioner no.1 and apprehend threat to their life. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners being major married each other, but their matrimonial alliance is being opposed by the private respondent no. 5-father of petitioner no. 1, therefore, they gave a representation to the Superintendent of Police, Shahjahanpur and requested for providing security as they are facing threat to their life. He further submits that the needful has not been till date, therefore, the petitioners have approached this Court. Learned counsel prays that the necessary directions be issued. Upon considering the submissions of learned counsel for the petitioners and perusing the representation dated 06.10.2023, this Court finds that the petition is absolutely vague and does not contain the material particulars, much less the present place of residence of the petitioners, who have concededly left their home. Apart from it, during the course of the hearing, it is not disputed by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioner no. 2 is employed and doing a private job in Shahjahanpur, and no threat of any kind has been given to him. A perusal of the representation also shows that the petitioners have only mentioned about threat to their life, but the same is not containing any particulars regarding the manner and mode of alleged threat. In view of the above, this Court is not inclined to exercise extraordinary jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. The petition is dismissed.
