10.10.2023. Learned cousnel for Electricity Department states that this was not a demand notice, but it was a provisional assessment notice to the petitioner so that he would approach the respondents and file a reply. Petitioner is therefore, directed that if he replies to the provisional assessment notice within the next two weeks then a final assessment shall be made within next one month thereafter. Needless to mention that petitioner shall be given a personal hearing. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. For a period of two months or till the final assessment order is passed, whichever is earlier, no coercive action shall be taken against the petitioner.
