The petitioner has preferred instant writ petition for the following relief: "i. to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no. 2 i.e. District Magistrate Kushinagar to renew the Arms Licenses vide License No. 5039/2003 (DBBL-12 Bore), Police Station Sevrahi of District Kushinagar as per the settled law." On the basis of instructions, Ms. Anuradha Sundaram, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel submits that the petitioner is in possession of two arm licences and with respect to the third licence, in the enquiry it has been found that the proceedings for cancellation of arm licence have been initiated, which are pending.
