¶1Heard Shri Jiterndra Kumar Srivastava, learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Standing Counsel for respondent No. 1 and Ms. Shambhavi Tiwari, learned counsel holding brief of Shri Rohit Pandey, learned counsel for the respondent Nos. 2 to 4.

¶2The petitioners' request for change of name of the Institution in the University records is pending consideration before the Vice Chancellor of the University pursuant to the application dated

07.07.2023.

¶3Ms. Shambhavi Tiwari, learned counsel for the respondent-University submits that in fact, the Registrar is the Authority competent to take a decision in the matter on the basis of records available in the University and consideration of such a prayer is dependent upon verification of entire records, which exercise will consume some time.

¶4Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent No.3, Registrar, Dr. Bheem Rao Ambedkar University, Agra to take a decision on the petitioners' application dated 07.07.2023, which shall be sent by the Vice Chancellor to the Registrar of the University for consideration.

¶5The decision shall be taken on or before 31.01.2024, provided a certified copy of this order is produced before the respondent No.3, Registrar of the University in the month of November, 2023 itself.

¶6It is made clear that the Court has not adjudicated the petitioners' request on merits and it shall be considered by the Registrar of the University in accordance with law. Order Date :- 9.11.2023 Sazia High Court of Judicature at Allahabad
