¶1The grievance of the petitioner in the present petition is that different applications filed by the petitioner for grant of character certificate are not being considered by the Senior Superintendent of Police, District Azamgarh.

¶2It has been stated in the petition that the character certificate of the petitioner is necessary as the same has been sought from the Excise Department to renew the license of the petitioner for the country made liquor shop awarded to the petitioner. One such application was filed by the petitioner on 14.8.2023.

¶3It would serve no useful purpose to keep the petition pending.

¶4The petition is disposed of with the direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, District Azamgarh that in case the petitioner files a fresh representation within one month from today, the same shall be decided by him within a period of three months from the date of filing of such representation and appropriate action in accordance with law shall be taken depending upon the decision of the Senior Superintendent of Police, District Azamgarh within next period of one month.
