Hon'ble Ajit Kumar,J. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned Standing Counsel. Petitioner, who is working as Sale Attendant in the Canteen Department of Varanasi Cantonment, Varanasi, his services have come to be terminated on 09.01.2020 against which he preferred the departmental appeal before the General Commanding Officer/ respondent no. 1, however, the same has remain pending consideration before the appellant authority. Ms. Annapurna Singh Chandel, learned counsel appearing for respondent nos. 1 to 3 could not dispute the aforesaid fact regarding pendency of departmental appeal. Since now appeal is pending before the competent authority, the Court considers is appropriate to issue direction to the concerned respondent no. 1 to dispose of the pending departmental appeal within a time bound period. In view of the above, this petition stands disposed of with a direction that respondent no. 1 shall consider and decide the pending departmental appeal of the petitioner as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. Needless to add that the order to be passed by the competent authority, as directed herein above, shall be reasoned and speaking one.
