¶1Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned AGA for the State.

¶2Challenge in this writ petition is to an order passed against the petitioner under Section 14(1) of the U.P. Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act by the respondent no.2/District Magistrate, Kanpur. Although, the petitioner seeks quashing of the order.

¶3The said relief cannot be granted and the petition cannot be entertained as petitioner has statutory alternative remedy of filing representation as provided in Section 15(2) of the Act. This relief has not been availed.

¶4The petition is, therefore, liable to be dismissed on the ground of availability of statutory alternative remedy which the petitioner, in case so advised, may avail for redressal of his grievance.
