1.The petitioners allege that the respondents have taken over possession of their land for widening of a Highway without formal acquisition and payment of compensation to them. Counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are entitled to compensation for the land from the respondents.

¶2Sri Rajeev Gupta, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel appearing for the State respondents and Ms. Saumya Srivastava appearing on behalf of respondent no.6 state that the claim of the petitioners has to be examined by District Level Committee in terms of Government Order dated 12.05.2016.

¶3Counsel for the petitioners fairly submits that the petitioners will make claim before the said Committee.

¶4Accordingly, the petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to make claim for compensation in respect of the land in dispute before the Chairperson of the Committee envisaged under Government Order dated 12.05.2016 within two weeks from today. The Committee will decide the claim of the petitioners, after due notice and opportunity to them and also after carrying out survey of the site in presence of the petitioners or their representatives.
