¶1The case of the petitioners is that although the respondents have taken possession of their land for Greenfield Project, but they have not been paid any compensation.

¶2Sri Rajeev Gupta, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel, states that District Magistrate by order dated

21.8.2023 directed SDM, Bairiya, to enquire into the matter. Thereafter, the matter was got enquired into and the tehsil authorities have submitted a report dated 5.9.2023, but it seems that no decision has been taken so far.

¶3In the circumstances aforesaid, we grant liberty to the petitioners to approach respondent no. 2, i.e. Special Land Acquisition Officer, District Ballia, with a true attested copy of the instant order along with fresh representation within two weeks from today and in which event, he will examine the claim of the petitioners and will pass a speaking order within next twelve weeks, after hearing the petitioners and any other person likely to be affected thereby.
