¶1Heard learned counsel for the petitioner.

¶2This petition has been filed seeking the following relief: "(i) Issue an order or direction to directing the Court below to decide the Original Suit No. 878 of 2021 (Rajneesh Kumar Sharma & another Vs. Smt. Kaushal Devi & another) pending before the Court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) District Bijnor within stipulated period, in the interest of justice."

¶3It appears that an Original Suit No. 878 of 2021 was filed seeking relief of cancellation of a sale deed dated 13.8.2012 as well as for permanent injunction.

¶4The contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that on 18.7.2023, satisfaction of the trial court was recorded with regard to service on the defendants and given the provisions of Section 20C of the Specific Relief Act, 1963, the suit requires expeditious disposal.

¶5Section 20C of the Specific Relief Act specifically provides that a suit filed under the provisions of this Act shall be disposed of by the court within a period of twelve months from the date of service of summons to the defendant, provided that the said period may be extended for a further period not exceeding six months in aggregate after recording reasons in writing for such extension by the court.

¶6In view of the aforesaid provisions of the Act, I am of the opinion that no further direction is required.
