¶1Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record.

¶2The instant writ petition has been filed for following relief: "(a) To, issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to cancel lease of respondents in pursuance to the suo-moto, power exercise by the District Magistrate, District-Prayagraj, proceeding under section 198(4) of U.P.Z.A. Act dated 31.07.2015, within stipulated period."

¶3Contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that an application under Section 198(4) filed by the petitioner is not being decided and prayer made is that direction may be issued to decide the same by this Hon'ble Court.

¶4No useful purpose would be served in keeping this petition pending.

¶5Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the present petition stands disposed of finally with a direction to respondent No. 2/District Magistrate, District Prayagraj to consider and decide the aforementioned case, in accordance with law, expeditiously, after giving opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned and without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties provided that there is no other legal impediment.
