¶1Supplementary affidavit filed today, is taken on record.

¶2Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel for the State.

¶3Petitioners, who were initially appointed in civil police in the year 1989 and 1984 respectively as constables, were later on posted as driver to drive the vehicle of civil police in the year 1995 and 1994 respectively. Now they have become over aged coupled with the fact that they have been promoted to the post of head constable, they claim their repatriation to the civil police from the cadre of driver. In this regard, they have put up their application before competent authority on 09.08.2023 sent by registered post on 10.08.2023.

¶4Learned Standing Counsel does not have any objection in the event, direction is issued for consideration being accorded to the representation/application made by the petitioners.

¶5In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction the competent authority to look into the matter and consider the request of the petitioners for their repatriation as head constable from the post of driver and appropriate decision shall be taken within a period of four weeks from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order before it.
