¶1Heard Sri M.K. Verma, learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Standing Counsel for the State and Sri S.K. Chaturvedi, Advocate holding brief of Sri S.P. Pandey, learned counsel for respondent no.4.

¶2The instant writ petition has been filed by the petitioners seeking following reliefs:- "I. Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to give protection and not to harass and torture the petitioners by any mode or manner and to secure the life of petitioners. II. Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent no.4 not to interfere in the peaceful marriage life of petitioners."

¶3Learned counsel for respondent no.4 and learned standing counsel submits that the petitioner no.2 is of different religion and raised an objection that as per Section 8 of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021 the inter religious marriage is prohibited.

¶4After hearing learned counsel for the parties and considering the Section 8 of the aforesaid Act, this Court is of the view that the relief sought by the petitioners cannot be accorded.
