¶1Heard Shri Raj Kumar Singh, learned counsel for the petitioners and Shri Ambrish Shukla, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel for the State-respondents.

¶2The petitioner has prayed for a direction directing the respondent no. 2 to consider the claim of the petitioners with regard to giving agriculture lease to them by cancelling the lease granted in favour of the private respondents of the forest land, description of which given in column of the application dated

04.09.2023 of the petitioners given under section 6(6) of the Scheduled Tribe and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006.

¶3Considering the facts and circumstances, we are not inclined to keep the matter pending consideration. With the consent of counsel for the parties, the writ petition is disposed of directing the District Magistrate/Chairman, District Forest Committee, Chitrakoot to consider and decide the representation of the petitioners strictly in accordance with law, expeditiously preferably within six weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
