¶1Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned A.G.A. for the State-respondents.

¶2The petition seeks following reliefs:- "(i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the Superintendent of District Jail Kannauj decide the application dated

04.06.2023 of the petitioner's wife in the pursuance of letter dated

27.06.2023.

(ii) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the concerned respondent grant the parole of the petitioner, convicted in S.T. No. 179 of 1992 (State Vs. Chunni Lal), arising out of Case Crime No. 151 of 1989, under section 302/34 I.P.C. Police Station-Gursahaiganj, District Kannauj".

¶3The grievance of the petitioner is that his application for short term bail/furlough/parole filed by the petitioner, a life convict, is pending consideration before respondent No.1.

¶4The petition, under the circumstances, is disposed of for directing respondent No.1/Secretary Home, U.P. at Lucknow to take a call on the application, filed by the petitioner, strictly in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is filed before him.
