The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner praying for a writ of mandamus directing the Respondent No.2/Commissioner, Varanasi Region, Varanasi, to decide the Appeal No. 2205 of 2023 (Satya Yadav @ Tuntun Yadav vs. State of U.P.) Computerised No. C202314000002205 under Section 6(1) of U.P. Control of Goonda Act, 1970, Police Station-Sigra Commissionerate, District-Varanasi within stipulated time. Considering the limited submission at bar, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Respondent No.2/Commissioner, Varanasi Region, Varanasi, to decide the appeal, if still pending, expeditiously, in accordance with law, if there is no legal impediment in deciding the aforesaid appeal. The externment order challenged in appeal shall remain in abeyance during the pendency of appeal. With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition is disposed of.
