¶1Heard learned counsel for the parties.

¶2Petitioner who is working as Assistant Development Officer seeks promotion as District Panchayat Rahj Officer and submits that he has requisite period of service to his credit as prescribed for under the U.P. Panchayat Raj (Group 'A' and 'B') Service (First Amendment) Rules, 1991 amended in 2015.

¶3In the above regard, the petitioner has already made a representation before the authority concerned on 04.11.2023 but the same has not been decided till date.

¶4Learned Standing Counsel submits that the representation should be directed to be decided in accordance with law but strictly adhering to the relevant provisions of the Service Rules.

¶5In view of the above, this petition stands disposed of with direction to the respondent no.2 to look into and consider the claim of the petitioner as raised in his representation dated

04.11.2023 and decide the same as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of three months from the date of production of certified copy of this order in accordance with law and relevant rules preferred in that regard. Order Date :- 5.12.2023 Deepika High Court of Judicature at Allahabad
