This petition has been filed with the prayer to quash the First Information Report dated 15.10.2023. Learned counsel for the petitioners states that the informant is the real father and the victim is the step-mother. It is also stated that there is a dispute with regard to property after the father has re-married. Learned AGA opposes the prayer made in the writ petition. We have perused the first information report, which contains allegation with regard to an incident of 06.10.2023, wherein the victim has been ill-treated and her gold chain etc. has been snatched. Whether these allegations are correct or not is an aspect to be examined during investigation. Records, otherwise, reveal that several FIRs have been lodged by or against the petitioners in the matter. We would not be justified in drawing any inference with regard to the incident merely on the strength of relationship between the parties. Since prima-facie allegation with regard to commissioning of cognizable offence is disclosed, the prayer made in the writ petition is declined and the writ petition is consigned to records.
