¶1Heard the counsel for the parties.

¶2The grievance of the petitioner is that no decision has been taken by District Magistrate, Bareilly on her application filed for payment of compensation for the death of her husband due to Covid-19 infection contacted in the Panchayat Elections, 2021.

¶3The application was initially filed on 06.08.2021 and is pending despite repeated reminders to the District Magistrate to decide the said application.

¶4It would serve no useful purpose to keep the writ petition pending.

¶5Accordingly, the present writ petition is finally disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate, Bareilly to decide the application of the petitioner within a period of three moths from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before him and in case the petitioner is found entitled to the compensation, the same shall be paid within a period of one month from the date of the decision of the District Magistrate.
