Judgment
Court No. - 3 Case :- WRIT - C No. - 41839 of 2023 Petitioner :- Hanuman Singh Respondent :- State Of U.P. And 4 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Suresh Singh Counsel for Respondent :- CSC,Narendra Kumar Tiwari Hon'ble Siddhartha Varma,J. Hon'ble Shekhar B. Saraf,J. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri Rakesh Kumar Mishra, learned counsel holding brief of Sri Narendra Kumar Tiwari, learned counsel for the Electricity Department. The petitioner's electricity connection was made functional from the year 2014. It is the contention of learned counsel for the petitioner that the electricity connection was disconnected in the year 2019. The Electricity Department has placed certain instructions dated
11.12.2023, which shows that the petitioner has been charged Rs. 2,14,280/-. Learned counsel for the Electricity Department states that if the monthly bill was of Rs. 1789/-, and admittedly, the petitioner has used the connection for 72 months then the electricity bill would be of Rs. 1,28,808. He further submits that the remaining amount is towards surcharge and interest. Under such circumstances, no interference is warranted in this petition. If the petitioner is still aggrieved by the bill, he can approach the Electricity Department under Clause 6.5 of Electricity Supply Code. It shall also be open to the petitioner to approach the Government under the Government Order dated 4th February, 2023. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
