¶1The petitioner and his brother have prayed for mutation of their names in place of their father in respect of a shop. According to them, after death of their father on 07.10.2017, the property had devolved upon them. Their application filed in this respect is pending since a long time, therefore, the petitioner has prayed for a direction to the respondents to decide the said application.

¶2The record reveals that a notice was published in the newspaper on 22.07.2023 inviting objections against the prayer of the petitioner and his brother for mutation of their names.

¶3Since considerable time has already passed since then, therefore, we direct the Competent Authority to pass final order on the application of the petitioner for mutation of name expeditiously, preferably, within six weeks from the date of communication of the instant order alongwith photocopy of the mutation application.
