¶1Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned State Counsel appearing on behalf of opposite parties.

¶2Petition has been filed seeking a direction to opposite parties to consider petitioner's candidature for compassionate appointment in view of her educational qualifications.

¶3It has been submitted that petitioner's father late Mishri Lal passed away on 01.03.2007 while in service at a time when petitioner was a minor and upon attaining majority, petitioner's mother filed an application on 18.04.2017 seeking compassionate appointment of petitioner since other siblings were not eligible for same. It is submitted that petitioner's eldest sister, Ms. Pooja Anand had also made a claim which was rejected by opposite parties on 16.07.2018 as time barred but petitioner's application for compassionate appointment is still pending consideration.

¶4Learned counsel for petitioner has drawn attention to letter dated 22.08.2020 whereby State Government has directed the Commissioner to take appropriate decision with regard to petitioner's grievance but no further action has been taken.

¶5Considering the fact that the matter is still pending consideration before opposite party no.3 with regard to compassionate appointment being granted to petitioner, the said authority is directed to take a final decision in accordance with law with regard to same within a period of six weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before said authority.
