Petitioner has approached this Court challenging the order dated 02.05.2023 passed under Section 47-A of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 by the Additional District Magistrate (F&R), Ambedkar Nagar in Case No. 837/2022 (Computerized No. D202204040000837). Learned Standing Counsel raises a preliminary objection that against the said order, petitioner has an alternative remedy of filing an appeal before the Commissioner under Section 56 of the Stamp Act, 1899. With the aforesaid remedy to the petitioner, writ petition is consigned to record. Liberty is also granted to the petitioner file a stay application along with the appeal, which shall be considered and decided expeditiously in accordance with law by the court concerned.
