¶1Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned State Counsel for opposite parties.

¶2Petition has been filed seeking direction to opposite parties to consider him for promotion on the post of Inspector, Civil Police, on the basis of seniority with all consequential service benefits.

¶3It has been submitted that earlier petitioner was vested with a minor penalty by means of order dated 13.04.2023 against which revision was filed and was allowed by means of order dated 18.08.2023 whereby minor penalty was set aside. It is submitted that there is no other similar proceedings pending against petitioner and since he is fully qualified and eligible for and considered for promotion, the same is required to be done.

¶4For the said grievance, petitioner has already submitted a representation dated 13.09.2023. At present, learned counsel for petitioner restricts prayer for a decision with regard to same.

¶5Considering the innocuous prayer, without entering into merits, petitioner has already submitted a representation dated

13.09.2023 before opposite party no.2 i.e. Director General of Police, U.P. Recruitment and Promotion Board, Tower 1/2 Fourth Floor, Signature Building, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, who shall consider and decide the same within a period of six weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before the said authority.

¶6With aforesaid observations and directions, the petition is finally disposed of.
