Heard Shri Ratnesh Kant Agnihotri, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing counsel for the respondents. This matter pertains to the grant of arms licence which the petitioner applied on 21.04.2022 under Police Station Bazar Khala, Lucknow and is pending since then before the District Magistrate, Lucknow. The petitioner applied for getting licence of D.B.B.L. of his deceased father who died on 20.12.2020 and after his death the firearm is deposited in the gun house. No useful purpose will be served by keeping the matter pending before this Court. Learned Standing Counsel does not have any objection to the matter being decided finally at this stage. In view of above, the writ petition is finally disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate, Lucknow-respondent No. 2 to consider and decide the application of the petitioner for grant of arms licence, if he is otherwise eligible, in accordance with law, within a period of two months from the date a certified copy of this order is placed before him, if there is no legal impediment.
