¶1Heard Sri Faiz Ahmad Khan, learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned Standing counsel on behalf of the respondents.

¶2Learned counsel for the petitioner, at the outset, submits that he does not want to press prayer No.1. Accordingly, prayer No.1 is dismissed as not pressed.

¶3It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner was granted arm's license in the year 2014 and the said license has been renewed from time to time. The grievance of the petitioner is that he has made an application for renewal on 16th October, 2022 but till date no decision has been taken by the District Magistrate. He further submits that all the formalities and reports have already been received and only decision has to be taken by the District Magistrate. It is in aforesaid circumstances that he prays that the District Magistrate may be directed to decide the application of the petitioner made in this regard expeditiously.

¶4Learned Standing counsel does not oppose the prayer made by the petitioner.

¶5In view of the above, without entering into merits of the case the petition is disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate concerned to pass necessary orders on the application for renewal preferred by the petitioner, expeditiously, say within a period of six weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is placed before him, in accordance with law.
