¶1Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned State Counsel for opposite parties.

¶2Petition has been filed seeking a direction to opposite parties for payment of correct salary to petitioner along with arrears and interest thereupon. It has been submitted that initially petitioner was appointed as constable with the Civil Police on

01.03.1993 whereafter he was promoted as a Sub-Inspector in year 2011 but has recently come to know through information supplied under the Rights to Information Act that salary received by him is not equivalent to other similarly situated persons.

¶4For the said grievance, petitioner has already submitted a representation dated 14.08.2023 before the authority concerned. At present, learned counsel for petitioner restricts prayer with regard to final decision on the same.

¶5Considering the innocuous prayer, without entering into merits, opposite party no.3 i.e. Superintendent of Police, District Ayodhya is directed to consider and decide representation of petitioner dated 14.08.2023 expeditiously within a period of eight weeks from the date a copy of this order is produced before authority concerned along with a copy of said representation.
