¶1Heard learned Counsel for the petitioner and Shri V.P. Nag, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel for the State-respondent.

¶2The present petition filed in publice interest has raised a grievance against the allotment of land in favour of one Gulaba Devi sometime in the year 1983-84.

¶3Such belated claims in public interest where the rights of the parties may have matured under law by virtue of possession cannot be entertained in public interest.

¶4Learned Counsel for the petitioner at this stage prays that he may be permitted to withdraw this petition.
