¶1Heard Sri Durga Prasad Shukla along with Ms. Garima Singh for the petitioner as well as Standing counsel for the respondents.

¶2It has been submitted that the petitioner has moved application for gant of arm's license under the Arms Rules, 2016 on 27.11.2018 but till date the same is pending before the District Magistrate, Sitapur i.e. respondent No.2 and no decision has been taken on the same. He has further submitted that all the formalities have been completed and that he has also moved a representation before respondent No.2 for expeditious disposal of his application for arm's license but till date no decision has been taken on the said representation as well. It is in aforesaid circumstances that the present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the application of the petitioner No.248/2018 expeditiously.

¶3Learned Standing counsel does not object to the prayer of the petitioner.

¶4Accordingly, without entering into merits of the case and also considering the fact that the application of the petitioner in this regard is pending before respondent No.2 for last more than four years, it is directed that the aforesaid application of the petitioner be considered and decided expeditiously, say within a period of six weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is placed before him in accordance with law.
