Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned State Counsel appearing on behalf of opposite parties. Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the opposite parties to promot petitioner on the post of sub Inspector, Civil Police with effect from the date batch-mates of petitioner have been so promoted. It has been submitted that earlier a departmental promotion committee has been held on 31st October, 2023 in which petitioner's name has not been considered despite being eligible and qualified for such promotion. With regard to his grievance, petitioner has already submitted a representation dated 8th November, 2023. At present learned counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer for a final decision with regard to same. Considering innocuous prayer being made by learned counsel for petitioner and without entering into the merits of the case, opposite party No. 3 i.e. Deputy Inspector General of Police (Establishment), D.G.P. Headquarter, Lucknow is directed to decide representation dated 8th November, 2023 within a period of six weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is submitted before him. The petitioner shall annex a copy of the aforesaid representation dated 8th November, 2023 along with copy of this order. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition stands disposed of.
