¶1Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned State Counsel appearing on behalf of opposite parties.

¶2Petition has been filed seeking a direction to opposite parties to consider petitioner's case for promotion on the post of Junior Engineers (Civil) in Public Works Department with effect from the date similarly situated Senior Assistants have been promoted. Consequential benefits have been sought.

¶3It has been submitted that petitioner who is currently working on the post of Senior Assistant is duly eligible and qualified for being promoted on the post of Junior Engineer (Civil) but despite the fact that similarly situated Senior Assistants have already been promoted, petitioner's case has been ignored.

¶4For the aforesaid grievance, petitioner has already submitted a representation dated 16.10.2023. At present learned counsel for petitioner restricts his prayer for a final decision with regard to same.

¶5Considering innocuous prayer being made by learned counsel for petitioner and without entering into the merits of the case, opposite party No.3 i.e.Chief Engineer (Moo-2) Public Works Department, Lucknow is directed to consider and decide representation dated 16.10.2023 by reasoned and speaking order within a period of six weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before said authority. Petitioner shall annex a copy of representation dated 16.10.2023 alongwith a copy of this order.
