¶1This is an application seeking release of the applicant on short term bail to enable him to attend the wedding ceremony of his son.

¶2Earlier the wedding was scheduled to be performed on 12.06.2023 and the applicant was granted short term bail for a period of three days by means of an order dated 30.05.2023 passed in Criminal Misc. Bail Application No. 7187 of 2023. However, the marriage could not be solemnized due to death of a near relative and it was postponed and now it is scheduled to be performed on 06.12.2023.

¶3The marriage was scheduled to be performed at Ram Nagar, District Nainital in the State of Uttrakhand and during hearing of the application on 30.11.2023, an objection was raised on behalf of the respondent that the applicant is an accused of committing offence under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 and it would not be proper to release him to enable him to go out of the State to attend any ceremony.

¶4Upon the aforesaid objection, the learned counsel for the applicant has sought instructions and has made a statement that the venue of the wedding has been shifted to the applicant's resident at "LG-II, House No. 10, Awas Vikas Colony, Village Mohammadpur, District Amethi'.

¶5Keeping in view the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, as the applicant was previously granted a short term bail to enable him to attend the wedding ceremony of his son which had to be postponed due to death of close relative, this short term bail application is allowed.
