¶1Heard Shri Shivam Sharma, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel representing the State-respondents.

¶2This writ petition filed in public interest has raised a grievance against re-organizing the police services by forming clusters of villages and attaching the village areas to one or the other police station. The petitioner has complained that the village he belongs to was attached to a nearby police chowki but as a result of re-organization, the services have been distanced.

¶3This issue is squarely covered under the policy decision of the administrative authorities which does not call for any interference by this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. However, it is provided that the State-authorities may consider the grievance of the petitioner to effectuate the services in case any representation to that effect is made by the villagers. The representation made, if any, shall be considered and decided having regard to the local conditions. Closure or operation of the existing police chowki at Village Chapunna may also be viewed in the light of the grievance as is permitted to be raised through a representation.
