Petitioner has approached this Court for a mandamus commanding the respondents to provide electricity connection to the petitioner for his newly constructed house situated at Khasra No.2144. Case of the petitioner is that she has constructed house over Khasra No. 2144 situated at Para Bibi Kheda, District Lucknow and has also deposited the amount as was sought from the petitioner i.e. an amount of Rs.32,710/-. Learned counsel for petitioner states that despite the said amount being deposited, the respondent no.3/Executive Engineer is not granting electricity connection to the petitioner. Learned counsel for the respondents/U.P. Power Corporation, on instructions, states that in case the petitioner deposits/produces receipt of the deposit, electricity connection shall be granted expeditiously. In view thereof, petitioner is permitted to make representation before the respondent no.3, along with the receipt of the estimated amount within a period of one week from today. In case such a representation is moved by the petitioner within a period of one week from today, the respondent no.3, shall take decision and ensure that the electricity connection is granted to the petitioner within a period of two weeks thereafter.
