¶1Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the State.

¶2The writ petition filed in public interest seeks a writ of mandamus to set up inquiry against opposite party nos. 4 to 6, who are alleged to be notorious criminals. The record also reveals that some FIR is pending against the alleged persons who are impleaded as respondent nos. 4 to 6.

¶3Once it is the own case of the petitioner that some FIR has been lodged against the opposite party nos. 4 to 6, the object of the present writ petition appears to be none other than an interference in the course of criminal investigation. The courts of law must forestall its hands for such an interference in criminal matters unless there are circumstances warranting to entertain the cause in public interest. Not only that the credentials of the petitioner in the present case are in doubt but the Court is also not satisfied that any directions having a bearing on the investigation going on in the matter may stand effective unduly.
