This writ petition has been preferred for direction to the Respondent No.3 to issue Police Clearance Certificate in the name of petitioner. It is further prayed to issue any order or direction which may deem fit and proper under the circumstances of this case in the interest of justice. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the passport officer has received a police report under which a criminal case having Crime No.230/2021, U/s 13 of the Gambling Act, Police Station - Patranga, Ayodhya, which is minor in nature is pending against the petitioner, due to which he has not renewed the passport of the petitioner. This writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Respondent No.2 i.e. the Regional Passport Officer, Passport Bhawan, Vipin Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, U.P. to pass an appropriate reasoned and speaking order in accordance with law on the application moved by the petitioner for grant of passport ignoring the police report, if there is no other case is pending, within a period of three weeks from the date certified copy of this order is served as the visa is till 5.2.2024. .
