¶1Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and Sri Sunil Bajpai, learned Addl. Chief Standing Counsel.

¶2The writ court has passed order dated 24.11.2020 in Service Single No.22077 of 2020, which reads as under:- "Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned counsel for the opposite parties. By way of this petition, the petitioner has prayed for issuing a writ of mandamus to command the respondent no.2 to consider the claim of the petitioners for revised higher pay scale as per G.O. dated 28.02.2013 and also to pay the arrears thereof. Learned counsel for the petitioner has confined his prayer for the disposal of the petitioner's representation dated 12.10.2020, contained at Annexure 6 to the petition. Learned standing counsel has no objection with regard to above prayer of the learned counsel for the petitioner. Accordingly, without entering into the merits of the case, this writ petition is disposed of with direction to the petitioners to make a fresh representation raising all their grievances along with a copy of this petition to the respondent no.1 (Principal Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Civil Secretariat, Lucknow) within a period of ten days from today and the respondent no.1 is directed to decide and dispose of the aforesaid representation of the petitioners in accordance with law by passing a reasoned and speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receiving a copy of this order and communicate the decision thereof to the petitioners. Writ Petition is, thus, disposed of."

¶3Sri Sunil Bajpai has stated that since the writ court has directed to decide the representation by speaking and reasoned order, therefore, in compliance of the aforesaid order, the Principal Secretary, Department of Social Welfare, Government of U.P., Lucknow has passed an office memo dated 27.08.2021 disposing of the representation of the petitioners; copy thereof is taken on record and one copy thereof is provided to learned counsel for the petitioners.

¶4In the wake of aforesaid development, nothing remains to be adjudicated in the present contempt petition.

¶5Accordingly, the present contempt petition is dismissed.

¶6Notice, if any, stands discharged.

¶7However, it is always open for the petitioners to assail the office memo dated 27.08.2021 passed by the Principal Secretary, Department of Social Welfare, Government of U.P., Lucknow, if the petitioners feel themselves aggrieved from that order.
