Heard Mr. Abdur Roshid, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. Satyajit Dutta, learned counsel appearing on behalf of respondents No. 1 & 2; and Mr. R. Dhar, learned Addl. Senior Government Advocate, appearing on behalf of respondents No. 3 & 4.

The petitioner, in the present proceeding, has presented a challenge to an order, dated 11.02.2022/21.02.2022, issued for recruitment to the post of Gaon Burah, Charge No. 07, Mouza – Baguribari, Circle – Chenga, District – Barpeta.

It is the contention of the petitioner that for the same very post, an advertisement was issued earlier on 01.06.2018, and the process of recruitment in pursuance of thereof, was pending and accordingly, the respondent authorities could not have issued further advertisement on

11.02.2022, for the post which was already put up for recruitment vide the earlier advertisement, dated 01.06.2018.

Today, Mr. Dhar, learned Addl. Senior Government Advocate, on receipt of the instructions of the District Commissioner, Barpeta, has submitted that vide the notice, dated 06.09.2022; the advertisement, dated 11.02.2022/

21.02.2022, was cancelled.

In view of the developments taking place in the matter; no further live Page No.# 3/3 issue exists for consideration in the present proceeding and accordingly, the instant writ petition stands closed.

A copy of the communication, dated 26.11.2024, referred to above, is kept as a part of the record and marked as 'X' for the purpose of identification.

Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
