Judgment

Order on Board 14/10/2026

¶1By the present writ petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent authorities to consider and decide the departmental appeal dated 02.06.2025 (Annexure P-3) preferred by the petitioner against the order of dismissal from service, which is pending consideration before the respondent No.2.

¶2Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner, who was posted as Assistant Grade-II in the Office of Land Records, Dantewada, was terminated vide order dated

04.03.2025. He submits that the petitioner was terminated from service pursuant to a departmental inquiry concerning the sale of old and damaged materials of the Land Records Office. Being aggrieved by the said termination order, the petitioner has preferred an appeal, which is pending consideration before the respondent No.2. Learned counsel further submits that, although more than a year has elapsed since the filing of the appeal, the same has not yet been decided, causing severe financial hardship to the petitioner. He, therefore, prays for a direction to the competent authority to decide the pending appeal within a stipulated period.

¶3Learned State counsel submits that if the appeal (Annexure P-3) of the petitioner is still pending consideration, the same shall be considered and decided, in accordance with law, within the stipulated period.

¶4I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material available on record.

¶5Considering the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner and taking into account the submission made by learned State counsel, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2/ Secretary, Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, C.G., to consider and decide the appeal dated 02.06.2025 (Annexure P-3) preferred by the petitioner, strictly in accordance with law, preferably within a period of 50 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

¶6With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. Sd/-
