¶1The limited request in the present petition is to consider transfer of the petitioner herein from semi-open to open prison, in accordance with the provisions contained in Delhi Prison Rules, 2018.

¶2Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a request in this regard was sent to the concerned Authority on 29.07.2026 through speed post but there is no decision as yet.

¶3Learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State submits that the abovesaid representation shall be decided within a period of three weeks from today. This is a digitally signed order. W.P.(CRL) 2512/2026

¶4In view of the abovesaid statement/assurance, petitioner herein does not press for any further relief at the moment. He, however, seeks liberty to file the petition afresh if need so arises.

¶5The petition is, accordingly, disposed of, as not pressed with direction to the concerned Authority to decide the abovesaid representation within a period of three weeks from today. The outcome be also duly communicated to the petitioner as well as to his counsel.

¶6Liberty, as prayed, is granted.

¶7All rights and contentions of the parties are left open.
