¶3Issue Notice. Learned APP for the state accepts notice on behalf of the state.

¶4The petitioners and Respondent No.2 are present before this Court and have been duly identified by the Investigating Officer (IO) concerned. The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

¶5Briefly stated, the marriage between Petitioner No.1 and Respondent No.2 was solemnized on 26.01.2023 in accordance with Hindu rites and ceremonies. No child was born out of the said wedlock. Owing to matrimonial discord and irreconcilable differences, the parties started residing separately with effect from 01.08.2024. Thereafter, Respondent No.2 lodged the present FIR against the petitioners.

¶6During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties, with the intervention of their family members and well-wishers, amicably resolved their disputes before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Rohini District Courts, Delhi, and executed a Settlement Agreement dated 17.02.2026. Pursuant to the said settlement, the parties also took steps for dissolution of their marriage by mutual consent. The marriage between Petitioner No.1 and Respondent No.2 was subsequently dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent vide judgment and decree dated 28.04.2026 passed by the learned Judge, Family Court (North), Rohini Courts, Delhi.

¶7Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that pursuant to the settlement, Respondent No.2 has withdrawn the complaint filed under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, and has also agreed to cooperate in the quashing of the present FIR.

¶8On a query made by this Court, Respondent No.2, who has been duly identified by the IO, states that she has entered into the settlement of her own free will and without any force, coercion or undue influence. She further states that the disputes between the parties have been amicably resolved, that she has no surviving claim against the petitioners and that she has no objection to the quashing of the present FIR and all proceedings emanating therefrom.

¶9Learned counsel for the petitioners further submits that Petitioner Nos.2 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. to 8 are relatives of Petitioner No.1 and the allegations against them are general and omnibus in nature, without any specific role being attributed to them.

¶10In view of the fact that the parties have amicably resolved all their matrimonial disputes, the marriage between Petitioner No.1 and Respondent No.2 already stands dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent, the proceedings arising out of the matrimonial disputes have been withdrawn/settled and Respondent No.2 has no objection to the quashing of the present FIR, no useful purpose would be served by permitting the criminal proceedings to continue. Continuation of the proceedings, in the facts and circumstances of the present case, would only result in further continuation of the matrimonial discord between the parties.

¶11Accordingly, FIR No. 588/2025, registered at Police Station Prashant Vihar, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 498A/406/34 of the IPC, and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, are hereby quashed qua all the petitioners.
