Mr. Amit Anand, who is also present in the Court, also affirms the factum of settlement arrived at and submits that these proceedingsbe broughtto anend. In 'Gian Singh Vs. State of Punjab' (2012) 10 SCC 303 Apex Courthas recognizedthe need ofamicableresolutionof disputesin cases like the instant one, by observing as under;- "Resolution of a dispute by way of a compromise betweentwo warring groups, therefore, should attract the immediateand prompt attention of a court which should endeavourto givefull effectto the same unless such compromiseis abhorrentto lawfulcompositionof the society or wouldpromote savagery. Where the High Court quashes a criminal proceedinghaving regard to thefact that the dispute between the offenderand the victim has been settled althoughthe offencesare notcompoundable,it doesso as in its opinion, continuationofcriminalproceedings will be an exercise infutility and justice in the case demands that the dispute between the parties is put to ah end and peace is restored; securing the ends of justice beingthe ultimateguidingfactor. " Consideringthat the dispute interse parties, which is the subject matter of afore-notedtwo FIRs, has been mutuallyand amicablyresolved in terms of Settlement-Agreementof 29'*^ March, 2013 (AnnexureP-3) throughDelhi High CourtMediationand ConciliationCentre,no fiaiitful purposewould be served in continuingwith the proceedingsarisingout of FIR in question.
