ANIL KUMAR, J. *
This is a petition for quashing of FIR No.120/2008 under Section 135 of the Electricity Act read with Section 379 of Indian Penal Code registered at Police Station Model Town. Learned counsel for respondent No.2, on instructions, contends that the petitioner had settled to pay an amount of Rs.2,99,400/- to the respondent No.2 under the Amnesty Scheme which amount has since been paid. Learned counsel for the respondent No.2, on instructions, also contends
that no useful purpose shall be served in continuing the proceedings pursuant to the said FIR.
In the circumstances, it is apparent that no useful purpose shall be served in continuing the proceedings pursuant to the said FIR and it shall also be in the interest of justice if the said FIR and all the proceedings pursuant thereto or in connection thereof be quashed. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor, Mr.Vats, also has no objection to quashing of the above said FIR and all the proceedings emanating therefrom, in the circumstances.
In the totality of facts and circumstances, the FIR No.120/2008 under Section 135 of the Electricity Act read with Section 379 of Indian Penal Code registered at Police Station Model Town and all the proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed against the petitioner.
The petition is disposed of.
